Free Writing Activity 3--Coll. Writing

I think that the collabrative writing idea is great! It would be really fun to write a book as a class. I had absolutely no idea that these kinds of sites were available on the internet. I've always wanted to publish short stories and poems but I've been under the impression that it's a long and arduous process to publish. The one thing I don't like about this activity is that the story is probably not going to be as good as everyone wants it to be becuase it's not coming from one person. And certain people are more creative than others, so i'm guessing the story itself might not be all it's cracked up to be. But the idea is nice.

Video About the Future on Youtube

I felt that the video was a little far fetched. People are just discovering new social networks and learning about websites like twitter and linkedin , and the video claimed that in 2011 we would be using the internet to listen to the radio and create virutal lives. I just don't see how, by next year, people are going to ditch thier television sets and radios, and navigate the internet instead. There are still hundereds of people out there who hardly know anything about the internet; especially older generations. My grandparents who are in thier early sixties hardly know what a blog is let alone how to use one. The sole purpose of having the internet on thier computer is to write email

Free Writing Activity 2

Honestly, this video kind of scared me. If I take the time to really think about the information the video offered it's a little frightening. Some of the information revolved around the number of people who use social networking sites and search engines, and one of the facts they gave was that only 33% of the youth of America have watched a movie on a DVD and many have begun to buy books and download them on thier ipod's and ipad's instead of acutually buying a book. I guess the question is, will people still appreciate things in the future and will they remain important? Or, will actual books be things of the past; useless packets of paper? I don't know.....

Free Writing Activity

It was way to windy this morning!!!!! I'm surprised the temperature at this school isn't 50 degrees below zero! Ha, Ha, Ha! But in actuality Minnesota has had some pretty amazing weather lately. Just yesterday it was 70 degrees, so i think that is something to rejoice over!
I'm really loving this whole wi-fi internet access the school has going for me. It's making my classes a heck of a lot easier. Now, I don't have to worry about losing papers or finding any packets. And I no longer have to carry my textbooks around because they can all be accessed on the moodle page.
I can't really think of anything else but Kreb's just told our class that we have a minute left to write so i have begun to stall by writing this run-on sentence, hopefully adding as much as i possbily can with the time alotted.
